RUNNING GOOSE MARKETPLACE Opens in time for the Holidays!
Shows done parties begin!...Value of stitching clubs....Punch Needle....New Kits...Holiday Recipe

Happy Holidays!

They're BACK...those holidays....can you believe?! Our shows are done for the year and the parties have begun. Thanksgiving was wonderful...all of the kids here PLUS Grandma and Uncle Bob from Florida visited for an entire week! I hope that yours was special also.

And now...we are thrilled to announce....The Grand Opening of our

RUNNING GOOSE MARKETPLACE

Just In time for the holidays. Here you will find an assortment of wonderful dolls, punch needle, pennyrugs, ornaments, pincushions and more. Most of them made by my prolific stitching friends Don and Sue, of Fabric FolkArt. Some are pattern models I am finally giving up to make room for the new.....the ole benches and shelves and closets are full up. Here are just a few samples of what you will find.

Simply CLICK ON one of those geese above to view the Marketplace. Occasionally throughout the year, the Marketplace will return. There are rarely multiples of any one item, so you must be quick. There are 25 images so some of you will need patience for them to load.

Do you belong to a sewing club or craft club? About 6 years ago when first moving here I put an ad in the paper inviting stitchers, crafters, or anyone who would like to be part of such a group to contact me. To my surprise the first call was from a gentleman asking many questions about the group to be. He and his wife showed up for our first meeting bringing with them his stick chick dolls. Others came too...one with her young daughter! And except for a few who have moved away...we are still a group and more so...we are friends....creating and sharing happily in our little corner of the world. Many of us belong also to a great guild but these more intimate gatherings offer a more intense starting point for our imaginary ventures. As we eat and gossip our way through each meeting or outing, our trust and support grows...what we share can only be found in such a home grown group. If you haven't gathered together your local collection of friendly sewing types, think about giving yourself the gift of friendship such as we have found. Be sure to note..when we first gathered together (some hadn't even sewn a stitch), not many of us thought we had much to offer, but my how things have changed. See for yourself sometime soon.
Just a couple of tips...When you begin your club, don't overly define the invitation...i.e. instead of calling it a quilting club or doll club...call it a fiber or stitching club...leaving it open to more people. Also, always keep the gates open for new members. A good way to get new members involved in an already established group is to invite them to a group outing.

Have you done it yet...Punch Needle? I didn't think I had an addictive personality until I learned punch needle. It may be because it is so simple, that you cannot stop yourself. So portable too. The Cameo needle we sell has a very sufficient instruction book with it. The patterns come printed on weaver's cloth. If you haven't visited our Punch web page...take a look. This is St Nick in his wool tree frame and Angelic framed in wool also.

Spring punch designs are coming soon. To view all of our punch items, click here.

So many of you requested a kit for the needle felted bunny in the pattern "Needle Felted Trio". I tried to put it off til spring (what me?...procrastinate?!) but some of you were very persistant...thanks to all of you...now it is done. There is also a needle felting kit for the heart. Click on picture below and we will take you there.

I haven't decorated much yet...my husband put up some outside lights...guessing he was done. I decided to post a sign-up sheet for decorating, trees, garlands, baking, etc. I left for a full day to give all a chance. Ok...so I see "Dad" printed in (rather faintly) in a number of places and then I think I see two cc's (even more faintly...Cruize Carl-18 year old eating and sleeping here.) Well. That is a start. Still hoping for RC, youngest son, to pop up somewhere.
The club Christmas Party may be held at another members house this year so we may do another sort of party here.
What are you up to?

I know you can't live without a Christmas recipe from us. For a scrumptuous Christmas Morning Muffin recipe, just click on that little Christmas Tree
.

Reets' Not-For-Everyone Music Pick....don't have one...sorry. However, I plan on looking for a group I have read about, Twelve Girls Band, classically trained on traditional Chinese instruments...instrumental cds. As I have not purchased any one of them yet, I'll hold off on recommending. Write-up says, "On their second album, Romantic Energy, the instrumental band offers a funky take on traditional Chinese music. Its 2004 album featured covers of songs by Coldplay and Enya." Let me know if you have discovered them.

As always you are invited to contribute to the Ramblin Rag any time...and also thank you for your picture additions to "Frenz Gallery"...please keep them coming.

We'll be back with you in January with a list of 2006 shows and some new spring designs. Til then . . . . .

Have yourself a
MERRY LITTLE CHRISTMAS

Full of Laughter
Full of Joy
Full of All That Is Good.

and very sincerely...Thank You for visiting and being a part of our growing group of stitching friends.

reets and family
