What great letters i receive. i truly wish i could pass them all on to you. One i received from doll maker Fifi in Tennessee who made up the Reets "Hot Mocha Mama" (#RR29) pattern, but not just one pair. She and 5 of her friends held a luncheon for 32 ladies and each place had a Mocha Mama sitting on a wine glass (ooh, sorry i missed this one) and had their names on them for place cards. Fifi sent me a marvelous picture of her luncheon table. (sometimes ya wish you could be EVERYWHERE don't ya?) thanks so much Fifi. i LOVED it:

The Golden Dollies newsletter is published by Gloria in California. i enjoyed a very enlightening, joyful and inspiring letter from Gloria who is a doll maker in her golden years who writes with great creativity... i can imagine the dolls she's made.

Therese S. in California is looking foward to "many happy hours with needle and wool." guess she loves wool felt as much as i do. thanks to her and to Shirley in Nevada for your letters and compliments. Also a big thanks to all who wrote me about the Cloth Doll Magazine article.. that was fun.

and here was a glorious moment... i received a wonderful, primitive black dolly from my email friend Frannie... for weeks i was in heaven just gazing at her... i still am. Someday Frannie and i will meet.

here's a little story for ya. i'm kinda not up on things..i mean, im not a tv or news enthusiast, or much of a reader either. i do however, give the radio half a listen as i work during the day. all last year, i was haunted by that repeated question, (you probably heard it too)....

"why Toukay" ?

i mean i didn't really listen to much of what anyone had to say about "Toukay" because i hate repetitive advertising.. annoying you know.. but after awhile it wears on ya right? for awhile i thought they were saying "Why Parkay".. you know the butter stuff.. but then i heard the "T" and started wondering myself... well yeah, "why Toukay?"... is it like the best or something?.. should i like go buy some a the stuff? .... finally, i'd heard enough. i set out on a mission to get some a this Toukay. and i mean i looked EVERYWHERE on the market... no luck. Went to the second market (we only have two) and continued the search. NONE! Dejected i went home, figuring the stuff must be so increduously popular, both markets were completely sold out. With every trek came the same results and more dejected i became. Admittedly, obsession started consuming me. i started tapping on the neighbor's doors and asking (very politely mind you) "may i please borrow some Toukay?" and i'll admit i'm new in the neighborhood but every single one of em just looked at me like they didn't even know what i was talking about. hmpfff... what a welcome! and god by now this episode was giving me hot flashes...i swear.. i was getting desparate to say the least. One week i even went to the town hall meeting because it said 'refreshments will be provided' cause i was just so certain they would be serving up some a this "Toukay" - hot as it was an all. And you guessed it... nice looking spread but the Toukay was nowhere to be found. Finally i collapsed with exhaustion over the whole thing.. then i got depressed and then apathy overtook me... "what the heck..it's probably just a new toilet paper or something.. who cares" At last i got back to work and every time i heard it mentioned again i just turned off the radio.... big blabs...why advertise something you ain't got?!..void!

Then for christmas..guess what we got... a TV...i was so mad and disappointed i wouldn't watch it for a week. then new year's eve rolled in and i was a bit drawn to all the excitement and you know it..before too long i saw it up there on the screen...

Y 2K...!!!!!

if only i'd a known... just spelled it wrong. . . .wish me better luck this year now that i know well what to look for.

gosh, thanks alot for reading all that.

and sincerely, Happy New Year
